Conceived  in 2023 on a hike in the Laurentians of Quebec, Homework Studio is the brainchild of creative couple, Ali and Noam.

Driven by our shared passion for great storytelling, thoughtful design, and expressive animation, Homework is a full service animation studio run by award winning artists who believe that great storytelling makes engaging content. We take on the full scope of your creative vision and handle everything from pre to post. However, our creative aspirations extend beyond the boundaries of a single medium. We venture into diverse territories, exploring mixed media, 3D, and even stop-motion techniques. We like to think we have a unique house style that sets Homework Studio apart.

As a versatile dynamic duo, we handle all aspects of animation production, from initial concepts like storyboarding, design and style-frames to animation, post-production and everything in-between. Central to our approach is collaboration, where we form close relationships with our clients to breathe life into their ideas.

Meet Homework

Noam Sussman

Noam Sussman

Noam Sussman, an animation director hailing from Toronto, boasts a diverse portfolio in the animation world. His creative  crafting GIF sticker sets for notable entities like Google, GIPHY (where he is a GIPHY featured artist), Jib Jab, and the Toronto Animated Arts Festival. Noam holds a BA in Animation from Sheridan College and an MA in Animation from the Estonian Academy of Arts.

Noam has contributed storyboards to Disney TV's Pickle and Peanut, lent his illustrative skills to the documentary mini-series Fightlore for UFC, and directed short interstitials for the PBS Kids show Let’s Go Luna. His films (Gum, Dream Cream and Oh Say Can You See?) have garnered international acclaim, screening in over 100 festivals worldwide, including prestigious events like Pictoplasma, Slamdance, Ottawa Intl Animation Festival and Annecy, and clinching multiple awards. Among his accolades, Noam is a winner of AI-AP’s International Motion Arts Awards and earned the Audience Choice Award for Best Short Film at the Toronto Animated Image Society Showcase.

Noam Sussman comes to Homework Studio with enthusiasm, infusing each project with innovation and a depth of artistic expertise.

Ali Kellner

Ali Kellner

Ali Kellner has navigated diverse roles in the animation industry, fueled by a passion for crafting original content and developing intellectual properties. Originating from Montreal, she honed her skills at Concordia University and Sheridan College, specializing in classical animation and design.

Ali's acclaimed film, Nana, earned recognition at over 35 film festivals. Her career spans roles on Bravest Warriors, design work for TV projects, storyboarding for Corner Gas Animated on CTV, and creating storyboards for the children’s program Super Simple Songs.

Ali's impactful contributions also include co-directing advertising materials for the Toronto Animated Arts Festival Intl.

In 2019, Ali and her writing partner clinched 1st place at the Ottawa International Animation Festival’s Pitch This! with a pitch rooted in their school experiences, later optioned by Nelvana Inc. In 2020, they secured another 1st place win at the Toronto Animated Arts Festival’s Big Pitch with a new adult show.

Stepping into this new chapter, Ali brings a wealth of experience to Homework Studio and integrates her creative vision into every project with a focus on originality and compelling storytelling.
